Terms & Conditions for Artists

The Strokes of Genius project for the development of fine arts and crafts from Africa is an open project for any natural person who is an undiscovered artist and a citizen of any African Country, and all community craft work projects/businesses within the African continent .
Art work and crafts submitted online at www.strokesofgenius.co.za must be submitted in the form of a digital photograph of acceptable quality.
Artists (painters) will be required to provide the following registration information:

3.1 Full names of the artist
3.3 Current address of residence
3.4 Current postal address
3.5 Current contact details i.e. phone, fax, e-mail etc.
3.6 Description of the artwork containing details of the medium used, when it was painted and the size of the painting itself.

Craft workers will be required to provide the following registration information:

4.1 Full names of the craft worker and/or the craft project/business
4.3 Current address of residence of the craft worker or physical business address of the craft project/business
4.4 Current postal address of the craft worker or the craft project/business
4.5 Current contact details i.e. phone, fax, e-mail etc. of the craft worker or craft project/business
4.6 Description of the artwork containing details of the materials used, size, etc.
Artists and craft workers bind themselves to the fact that submitting any art and/or craft work for sale on the web site is sufficient proof of agreement to the following:

5.1 The artist declares that the artwork is his or her own work, or the work as licensed by his/her craft project/business.
5.2 The organisers reserve the right to evaluate all arts and crafts submitted. All art work found not to be of an acceptable standard, will not be placed on the web site
5.3 By submitting an art and/or craft object onto the web site, the artist confirms that the relevant art and/or craft object is and will be available for purchase by interested buyers.
5.4 Should an artwork not be available for purchase / a craft range be discontiued / a craft range be out of stock, it is the responsibility or the artist to remove it from the Strokes of Genius web site, or to contact the Strokes of Genius administrators to do so.
5.5 Shoprite will put the buyer in contact with the artist. Any agreements reached between the buyer and artist will be solely at their discretion. Shoprite is not party to any sale agreements concluded between the buyer and the artist.
No employees of the Shoprite Group or their immediate family, or the Group's agencies may use the web site to promote their art and/or craft work.
