Art Competition for Secondary Schools 2012
Strokes of Genius invited students in grades 10-12 to showcase their artistic talents in the 2012 School Art Competition by submitting paintings (oil or acrylic) or sketches (charcoal or pencil) that portray the theme Our Present to the Future.

All entries that were approved for participation in the competition, can be seen in the School Competition Sketches and Paintings galleries.
JUDGING & PRIZES
- Phase 1: The Top 20
A panel of judges will now select their choice of TOP 20 in each category. The organisers will then be in contact with the TOP 20 learners and / or their teachers (on a date to be confirmed) to arrange collection of these artworks from schools for further judging
- Phase 2: The 12 Finalists
From the TOP 20 the judges will thereafter choose 12 FINALISTS per category who will each receive R2000 for their art works. The 12 finalists' art works will also be photographed for use in a 2013 Strokes of Genius printed calendar.
The eight entries per category that were not selected as finalists, will be returned to the schools.
- Phase 3: The winners
During the final judging THREE WINNERS will be selected in each of the two categories.
They receive:
- 1st – a tertiary education policy worth R50 000 + the school wins R10 000 cash
- 2nd – a tertiary education policy worth R35 000 + the school wins R8 000 cash
- 3rd – a tertiary education policy worth R15 000 + the school wins R5 000 cash
